READ: Big report on De Beren Gieren in Dutch jazz magazine Jazzism

Cover Jazzism - Aubergine Artist Management

Have you seen the latest edition of renowned Dutch jazz magazine Jazzism? As you can read on the cover, this latest issue features a big & interesting report on De Beren Gieren.

Last fall, journalist Willem Jongeneelen followed the not-so-usual piano trio during their successful release tour. They presented their latest album Dug Out Skyscrapers (Sept. '17, Sdban Ultra) to an international, enthusiastic crowd. Simultaneously, the band was involved in a cross-over project with Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen. Since Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen kept resident in Muziekcentrum De Bijloke (Ghent) and was looking for a new collaboration, the choice for brand new city composer Fulco Ottervanger (composer & pianist of De Beren Gieren) was evident. He wrote a new musical piece called 'The Isle of Life', which is an answer to ‘The Isle of Death’ by Rachmaninov. The composition was performed by Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen, together with De Beren Gieren in Ghent, Antwerp & Bruges.

The article is a must-read if you like to get to know the band, the musicians and the above two projects. You can of course discover it yourself too, this week in Rotterdam & Lint, where the band will present once more their album 'Dug Out Skyscrapers':

Fri. 23.2 OC De Witte Merel, Lint (BE)

Sat. 24.2 LantarenVenster: Jazz International Rotterdam, Rotterdam (NL)

See you there!
